This is one of those recipes that has been handed down from some great cook from the past. Simply elegant – makes a great ala mode serving with ice cream. Couldn’t be easier Always think of this recipe when the apples are on in fall – although it can be made with a combination of apples and another fruit (peaches, pears, cherries)
You’ll need:
1/2 C flour
1/2 C old fashioned oatmeal
1/2 C brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
6 Tbsp butter, soft but not melted
Slice then arrange your favorite baking fruit (or combo) in an 8” square pan
Mix flour, oatmeal, sugar & cinnamon – work butter in with folk until its in small clumps.
Sprinkle this topping over the fruit & bake at 350 for 30 minutes *until topping is slightly browned.
